About the Role
As the Communications Manager, you will lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies that enhance the visibility and reputation of Facebook within the community and among our stakeholders. Ideal candidates will possess a deep understanding of media relations, corporate communications, and digital marketing tactics. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment in messaging and initiatives, directly impacting our engagement with users, partners, and the broader public.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic communications plans that support key company objectives and enhance Facebook's reputation in Philadelphia.
- Manage media relations, including drafting and distributing press releases, responding to media inquiries, and cultivating relationships with local journalists.
- Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to align public communications with business goals and ensure consistent messaging across various channels.
- Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust them accordingly for maximum impact.
- Create engaging content for multiple platforms, including social media, blog posts, newsletters, and company announcements.
- Lead crisis communication efforts by developing response strategies and preparing key messaging to address potential issues proactively.
- Organize community outreach programs and events that strengthen relationships with local stakeholders and enhance Facebook's standing within the community.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in communications, adapting strategies as necessary to maintain our leadership position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in communications roles, particularly in corporate communications, public relations, or digital marketing.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to craft compelling narratives.
- Experience in managing media relations and developing effective PR strategies.
- Demonstrated expertise in digital communications, including social media and content marketing.
- Strong analytical skills, with a capacity to interpret data and utilize metrics to guide decision-making.
- A team player who is proactive, resourceful, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with the Philadelphia media landscape and existing connections within the local journalism community is highly desirable.
